Title:  Most northern line in Europe
Description:  The biggest Ore Mine is located in Kiruna, northern Sweden. The mine itself is on top left, the train loading facilities in the lower middle of the picture. Trains run along a loop, usually clockwise. Part of the city has to be removed within the next 20 years because of sliding down into the mine system. In total, approximately 5,000 homes and 700 000 square meters of housing and premises have to be replaced. This means that around 10,000 people, about a quarter of the population, will have to move.

Title:  Most northern line in Europe
Description:  First pair of IORE locomotives was delivered in 2000 by ADtranz. The second pair, and following, were delivered after the company was taken-over by Bombardier transportation. In August 2007, the demand for iron ore was still increasing, making LKAB decided to order 4 additional pairs of locomotives, delivered in 2009 and 2010. In April 2011, LKAB decided to order another four double-locomotives. With these units the company increased its transport capacity to 20 daily trains on the Malmbanan. (railcolor.net)
