Title:  Portugal - CP 5614
Description:  Sorefame constructed all locomotive bodies, 28 sets of bogies (except those for the first two) and did the assembly work. The first four bogies came from Germany, same for all axles and electrical equipment. Siemens Portugal was responsible for the transformers for example. Delivery of the batch took place in 1993-1995. All machines are property of Comboios de Portugal. Since April 2007, the LE 5600 series are able to reach for speeds up to 200 kph in regular service. 5601-5610 got transferred from freight services (CP Carga) to long distance passenger services (CP Longo Curso) and are now used for commercial operations on the 200 kph Lisboa – Porto route.

Description:  Medway is a subsidiary of the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC). It will invest EUR 93 million to conquer the Iberian rail freight market. The purchase of 16 new electric locomotives Euro 6000 which will allow Medway to return the five class 5600 locomotives that have been leased from CP since the freight division (ex-CP Carga) was privatized in 2016. The lease expires at the end of 2023 and affects the 5600 series locomotives.

Description:  The class E200 locomotives were manufactured by the German company Henschel & Sohn , for the Minho and Douro division of Caminhos de Ferro do Estado. They came to Portugal as part of the German compensation after the First World War, having arrived in national territory in 1923. No 201 is now as gate guard at Ermesinde station.
