Album Info:Germany is a huge railroad nation, dominated by Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB). With the deregulation and free access EU rules, Germany opened up considerably and now well over hundert local passenger operations, supported by local government, and a lot of cargo operation companies are etablished. So beside of the overall red DB it became a colorful country for railfanning. The network of Germany has about 63000 km / 40000 miles of length. Information by Wikipedia, Railcolor.net, Deutsche Bahn and other German operators.

The legendary Rheingold (Rhinegold) was a famous train connection between Hoek van Holland near Rotterdam and Basle, with a high standard coach train, preferred by business people. It includes also a dome car. The E10 1239 is now owned by the preservation society Locomotive-Club 103 e.V., located in Wuppertal, Germany.

In the beginning of the 1990s some additional class 139 (as they were renumbered in 1968 from class E 40.11) were built by equipping class 110 units with class 140 bogies and gearboxes from class 110 units pulled out of service to beef up the fleet of heavy used class 139 demand.
