421 395 - SBB Cargo International, Germany
Title:  421 395 - SBB Cargo International, Germany
Description:  The SBB Cargo subdivision of Germany has a couple of Re 4/4, class 421, in operation. The 421 has one pantograph for German and Swiss operation each. The sticker tells, that theiy are looking for a buyer or rent customer, including engineer training. 421 392 - SBB Cargo, Switzerland
Title:  421 392 - SBB Cargo, Switzerland
Description:  A Re 4/4 III with a different gear set for cargo trains can reach 125 kph / 80 mph only. But still sufficient for the intercity train Stuttgart - Zurich, which runs most on older tracks. The class 421 is homoglated for Germany too, therefore the Passenger Division of SBB rented this unit in, as they are short of engines and on the other side they can provide a through service without change on engine to DB AG.

Mainline Zurich-St.Gallen: SBB 421 371
Title:  Mainline Zurich-St.Gallen: SBB 421 371
Description:  On Swiss double track lines usually trains are running on lefthand side (by origin of first etablished trains in UK and addapted by Switzerland). To improve flexibility allmost all double track lines can be used allthough on opposite direction. Therefore the left siding on the front has a safety point to derail a train in case he overrun the siding when signal is closed.
